My Quranic miracle...

Salam and good day everyone.

Bismillah.

To write this up has not been easy for me, for i kept holding back and have been having ongoing discussions about it with hubs. As much as i can see the possible benefits of sharing something good, it is in my nature of thinking negatively of some people who would see it in an ill-mannered form. senang citer i pun bersangka buruk lar kat depa and vice versa. but i must admit that this is in fact a blessing and a miracle that i should not keep from other people. for it would definitely benefit me more as my investment in the akhira, for which that is better for me.

Speaking of miracles, we must all agree that nothing can even come close to the miracle that is the Quran. From its content, language and historic events of its descend on earth to us. All of it are amazing masyaAllah. As a mother, who only wants what's best for her children, i have made it a personal goal that i want them to be amongst the best in Allah's eyes insyaAllah.

So what do i know? How do i even begin? The only method i'm aware of and is currently doing, is to do the opposite of how i was brought up in areas that i think can be much further improved in myself. This thinking of course is very much tailored individually for only you would know what is best for you based on the knowledge you have gathered and exposed yourself with. So i would want my kids to be as if, if Rasulullah saw is still alive with us today, they would be his companions whom he would cherish.

MasyaAllah. Big dreams i know. But hey, just because it doesn't sound worldly enough like wanting Yusuf to be an astronaut or Maryam as a nuclear scientist, that doesn't mean it's not valid. And I believe it is very much achievable. How? you guessed it. with lots and lots and lots and lots of tears, sweat and sleepless nights. But just as you are motivated in doing something you love, this is me. In doing what i love. and it's a new found love indeed!

Dear baby girl...

Salam my dearest Maryam.

You're only about to enter the 3rd month of your life here on earth. and so many things have happened around you, be it good or bad. As of right now, these are the things that have been taking over my timeline:

1. Final nights of Ramadhan
2. Gaza under attack
3. ANOTHER MAS tragedy

Not in timeline:

4. Your first trip overseas. Singapore still counts sayang.
5. Uncle Farid got engaged

And that doesn't include the transition of your beloved brother Yusuf to becoming the now-accepting and loving brother to you. I'm glad coz i don't think i can handle anymore of his jealous streaks and tantrums before. i know you're loving his smothering and kisses right?

Well as much as the happiness and rizq was blessed to our family, i can't help getting over the fact that news like 2 and 3 can really get my mood down. Not to mention the anger to some @%@# people reacting to the whole thing. So here's what i can teach you from my humble experience about the world.

You see, we cannot avoid not interacting with other people, or live in a cocoon to prevent the news of the outside world to not affect us. Its useless to even try. It might not affect us directly, but nevertheless we would still feel them. get emotional about them. the best way to handle it is to tolerate. If you can tolerate people, or a situation well, you will not suffer greatly. Of course tolerance has its limits. There are times where you must know when to stand up against something too. Hopefully i will be at my best to show you how it is done sayangs.

To know the palestinians's bravery to set their foot down and stand up against tyranny by staying put to their OWN country (mind you!), is just amazing. The kind of bravery worthy of jannah in a split second. Here i am getting really upset (stock nanges meroyan punyer!) seeing photos of children in blood and men and women not in one piece, just because "some people" don't have a home and find it ok to kill other people's to call their own! pfftt!!! But daddy said to me, while calming me down, that they know what they're in for. and they're more than happy to die defending their own country knowing they'll be meeting Allah and head straight for jannah! For all you know, the minute they were bomb or shot to death, their souls departed, and seeing what's waiting for this mujahids, they'll be like "wow!! this is great! i'm finally here! hey people! you are all missing this! this is waaaaayy better than what's down there on earth!"

Subhanallah! Allahu akbar! To know there's a group of them with spirits praying to be syahadahs on their mission defending palestine, is just too awesome for me. i'm literally in awe and full of tears. Like right now. I had to stop typing because to imagine them willing to do this with such honour and bravery, it transgresses anything that defines courage to me. They are indeed the chosen ones, those palestinians cayang. May Allah bless us the same reward in whatever we can do here with our lives. insyaAllah.

Got to go honey. too emotional to go on blogging. my waterworks' pretty hard!

Too awesome not to read yo!

Salam everyone.

We are nearing the end of 2013 and entering the new year 2014 insyAllah.

And gosh, what have i done?

This post is not a disclaimer, but rather a public apology to some people out there, that have been influenced by me negatively.

Yes, i say this because, i openly admit that in the social network, mostly twitter and facebook, i have portrayed myself as an emo-freak without any license to stop my thought process. So much so i thought i was giving opinionated, clever statements. But some of it i realized, was just pure jibbery-vomit.

Yea, i know. it took me that long to break out of my denial phase. i can't even promise you i'm fully recovered yet tho! haha.

But what i do realize is, regardless of that flaw, i am actually THAT influential. Yes. i'm an influential person. be it to the people who admire me, couldn't be bothered about me and heck, even hates me! I have somehow, much to my horror, influenced them to be just. like. ME. An emotional wreck on social network!

Why do i even say this? i should know coz it used to be just me (or a small group of us) that would rant our hearts out on any particular issue that gave us the itch. Mine would be infamously known primarily (among other things) on my parenting skills. i send out unfriendly warnings, indirect and direct bashings if anyone dared to cause me headaches on how i should be a mother.

Now? orang yang tak pernah or jarang-jarang update status or tweet benda marah-marah or get all emo, are actively doing it! Baik lelaki or perempuan! and guess what, i actually don't feel that special anymore! hahaha to put it mildly lar of course. it seems everyone is apparently angry at everything like i am and letting everyone knows about it! and obviously, i now know how that made me looked like in the internet... An angry bitch! and an ugly one at that!

Except now i'm painfully seeing it in friends who i used to admire their beauty in their everyday jovial, cool updates. here i am wishing silently to have their calmness and valor at handling their emotions in the web. nampaknyer.... they have caught the curse. My curse! yikes!

what's worst, is that sudden realization that despite how awesome it is to copy me or be influenced by what i do, to follow this particular negative trait and be answerable to Allah for it on the day of judgement for creating a cult following of emo, blood thirsty zombies is just.... FRIGHTENING!!!

Imagine lar, bila they die, and the last thing they're remembered as someone yang emo and angry and when God asked why did u change your behaviour from a sweet person to such, jawapan dia...

"terikut-ikut Fatin ya Allah! hari-hari tengok dia tweet bash, i terasa, so i nak lawan dia and somehow i pun dah jadi macam dia. tweet-bash other people that cross my path and on most issues!"

Astaghfirullah! ME-NA-KUT-KAN OK!!!

Get gorgeous, or stay ugly?

Salam everyone.

How's the search for lailatul Qadr for us muslims so far? insyaAllah may it'll be our rezeki to get it and His blessings for allowing it to be found. Amin.

For my non-muslim friends who might be unaware of this special night, it is actually a night that is said to be better than 1000 months in terms of pahala and rewards! It is the night where the Quran was sent down to our beloved prophet Muhammad! So we weren't given an exact time as to when exactly this night occurs, but we were given clues that it will be in the last 10 days of Ramadhan.

So if you notice some of your colleagues appearing slightly tired than usual at work lately, it's a big possibility he or she has been up most of the time trying to catch this very blessed night! unless, they have already told you of their activity via facebook status or twitter, AT THAT VERY TIME. heh. Speaking of which, this is what i want to jot down as a reminder specially for me for this post. Simply because i myself am in the middle of this phase of "self improvement". and it's by observing others, that made me realize that the transition of beautifying one's self can be pretty ugly.

You know when a person changes something about them, they have this phase of sharing everything to the world to the level of arrogant boasting before quietened down and possibly never to be heard again after receiving "eh macam lar bagus sangat!" comments after? well not all end up like that of course. the chosen ones emerge better and victorious later! Noticed the 2 negative extremes that the devil wants you to be trapped in? But the goal is only one. And that is to make you fail or stop from becoming that better person and to be stuck forever in one of those extremes so it will be your outcome! But fret not peeps!  these extremes are very NORMAL bila somebody nak jadi baik/bagus. Tak caya? let's take one example of a person changing to wear the hijab:

1. I baru pakai hijab. i'm gonna tell the world i've hijrah by changing my profile pic. People liked it. I've got 100 likes and great comments. i feel awesome. so now i'm going to share how my life changed after wearing it. i feel good. oh but i don't have enough hijab to wear and they'll see me wear the same ones on instagram. oh tak boleh jadi ni. i'm going online shopping. oh wow there's alot of hijab styles. euwww why so short and transparent? i'd better tweet about this. this is so wrong. euwww now look at those wearing it but with tight clothes. i'm gonna blog about this. Apa masalah they all ni? ingat tutup aurat ni main2 ke apa? i got 500 likes and retweets on my thoughts/sarcasm about it. i'm sooo better than those who wore it longer before me.

haaaaaaaaa!! jahat tak jahat si devil ni???  ok now let's take a look at the other extreme pulak:

2. i rasa nak berhijab. tapi, nak kena buat betul2. baju2 lama dah tak boleh pakai. ruginya my MNG and zara tu. nak kena beli tudung lagi. mahalnyer lar tudung2 ni they jual. i tak nak pulak pakai yang sarung2 tu. i still want to look pretty and stylish. tapi i'm not a bad person pun. it's just tak pakai tudung jer coz most of the time, i tak lar pakai sexy2 sangat. plus pakai hijab ni pun tak semestinya orang tu baik lagi than me. tengok minah yg update status fb dia ni. baru jer pakai, tp dah sindir2 orang macam dia born with the hijab plak. lupa ker dia dulu pun tak pakai jugak? i don't even segregate people yg pakai tudung from yang tak pakai or treat them differently. yang penting hati dia baik. tak perlu nak pakai tudung nak jadi baik. i tak nak jadi macam minah tu. so, nanti lar dah kawin baru pakai. bila husband suruh.

hahaaa!!!! seeeeeeeeee??? I'm telling you, it's all the devil's whispers to you to be doing either one of this! and notice the 2 extremes of actions? this is just one example lar. ada banyak lagi and nearly always it happens to benda-benda yang baru for that person to belajar, ie. baru jadi a mom, baru jadi doctor, baru baca stuff related to agama anddd macam-macam lagi. all will go through these phases. Percayalar! Now the tricky part is, will these phases end? or will we be stuck in either one forever?

I ask myself why does this have to happen? why can't we get it right the first time? since i didn't get the answer, i asked hubby plak. (Haha!) And he said this is part of change/learning itself. It's like learning something for the first time, say riding a bike. you're guaranteed to fall at first try. in fact, you'd fall so many times after! before you finally master it and hardly fall anymore. or better still, you're able to control most of your falls! So in dakwah or calling people to do good, you'd have cacat cela to do it initially before perfecting it later on. Going to both extremes before reaching the equilibrium. (his exact words). but yang penting, if at first you don't succeed, dust yourself off and try again. *cue aaliyah's music!* eehh! What i meant is, keep going at it and don't give up. like how you really wanted to ace riding that bicycle.

wuish. best tak best jawapan tu! best tak best hubby saya? ok. don't answer that. i don't want to know. ehem!

So since it's normal, we have to admit how flawed we all are. and that we need to always improve ourselves. constantly. Coz if we don't do change, and just stay where we are, as a person, we will deteriorate. And this is bertentangan dengan fitrah for us muslims. coz we are suppose to change for the better. plus pernah ckp dengan orang yg asyik buat benda sama jer? boring kan?! And bayangkan when it comes to personal development. Their souls are empty and they lack appeal. Like a zombie!

And another thing, always do it (change) because of Allah. insyaAllah if that's the aim, we don't care at what bad things other people say about us. we take in the constructive criticism and sangka baik that Allah is guiding us indirectly through their harsh comments to betulkan our dakwah method. Coz maybe kita terlupa diri kan? macam contoh satu di atas. so bagus jugak ada 'haters' ni. But not all boleh pakai lar. Some are there simply to give us their free pahala from all those hates! And if depa tak banyak pahala dah nak bagi, depa amik dosa kita pulak! So they also become indirect forms of motivation for you to keep doing good! takder rugi apa2 puuunn! Hehe. They're just a different type of 'fans' really. But a fan nevertheless! ;P

Although, looking back at some tweets and status updates i've made, i've regretted at how i conveyed some of the messages. It could have been better (of coz!). And i admit, i too fell trapped pretty deeply at some points of this learning curve. But what's important is that i realize it, keep learning and continue doing it. Why?

Coz i want to be able to cycle my way to jannah nanti. With super awesome speed and without falling insyaAllah! =)

Sembang-sembang Mr B and me

One fine day. In the kitchen.

Me: Cayang, i was just thinking. Amazing kan, all of us grow up with different cultures and languages that we soon become accustomed to, but we all spoke the same language when we were babies. And yet, not many chose to learn the baby language except that Dunstan lady who came up with it recently. And when it is us yang don't know that universal language, we blame our babies for crying and scold them sebab nangis, when in fact they know exactly what they want and how to say it. Us and our egos as adults! huh! Sedih kan? Nak belajar bahasa lain bukan main susah. tapi the one language that has been there all our lives, takder siapa nak explore and learn.

Mr B (while carrying Yusuf in his arms): Well, that's proof Allah jadikan manusia ni dengan fitrah yang sama. So secara fitrahnya semua babies, all around the world, are good in nature. It is the parents that shaped them when they grow up.  Ajar benda baik, mmg baik lar jadinya insyaAllah. Ajar benda tak elok, memang tak elok lar jadinya.

Moral of the story: the earliest education starts in the womb, and then at home. Your children are your mini you. It is our responsibility to shape them as God-fearing sons and daughters. Coz when they fear God, it is only natural, they will become good human beings. InsyaAllah.

Second moral of the story: perempuan punyer patah perkataan bila bercakap ternyata lebih banyak dari lelaki punyer. Harap maklum. :P

Here's a video for those of you who wishes to learn and understand our babies more. It really helps. TRUST ME.

A new year, but same old story..

Salam maal hijrah to all muslims!

Maal hijrah denotes the new year to muslims around the world. it's been 1434 years since our beloved prophet Muhammad s.a.w did his hijrah (migration) with the earliest group of people that have accepted Islam. A thousand years plus seems very long if you ask me. But if you look at how Islam is now, it's sad to say we're not 100% peaceful or successful as how it reached its prime time back then.

Sure, there are some good news. Good as in the faith has touched and reached out to many hearts, troubled or calm, enticing them without the use of violence or swords or guns that was infamously claimed by some. Sure, there are also many sabotages created purposely for it to be tarnished and fill with hatred. But as devious as these plans maybe, it is no doubt that many are drawn to Islam without coercion. Like the beautiful story of Yusuf Estez who was a protestant minister, and his love for knowledge of God and faith brought him to Islam without a gun forced to his head or any threat whatsoever. In fact, he was excited yet worried to tell his wife about it, but it was she who gave him the ultimatum that she wanted to be a muslim and asked for his divorce if he is displeased.

Subhanallah. God is great indeed. As muslims, we were never allowed to force anyone into believing what we believe. but it is our responsibility to explain and share the beauty of it, for the interested or the curious minds. See! we're not that stingy when it comes to sharing great things tau! hehe. But of course, it is normal that some followers would purposely or accidentally spoil its perfection with their own withering beliefs or ignorance. As Dr Zakir Naik would say:

"If you want to learn a religion, go to their books and scriptures, don't look at their people. If you want to learn Islam, read the Quran and authentic hadiths, don't look at the muslims."

I don't know about you, but that's a darn good advice! I would agree because i myself have not started out as an exemplary muslim. So who am i to complain when people ridicule the religion when i had ridiculed it with my own ignorance in the first place? Alhamdulillah, He is soo merciful. So as long as you're healthy and breathing still, it is never too late to repent and love Islam like how it should be loved. Another great quote that shook me to the bone would be from Boona Mohamad:

"how can you be a believer if you don't live according to your beliefs?"

As all things that were impressive, there are some that's just, hands down, downright embarrassing and depressing. Just imagine on the new year, and the first few tweets i read this morning are about Gaza being attacked by a state that i don't wish for it to exist ever, Israel. Gosh! i mean, just look at all of us, just watching! helpless! if some of us ARE helpless that is! and seriously, by now, have you not seen who are using the firearms and bombs , JUST to push people out of their own country! and kill them! that's like your neighbour watching you and your family being attacked by burglars in your own home despite you screaming for help. and worst, they still watch you as your children are slashed and killed right in front of you??!! horrific? yes! sadly you'd feel this, only if this happens to you or to someone close that you know right? But wake up please! What is it about Israel that is nice and ok? as a human being with morals of different faiths, surely you feel the great sympathy of the people of Gaza? just because they are hated on what they believe in, and just because Israel wants a new home! They have the rights to kill for it?

It's sad. It's humiliating. It's ridiculous. It's devastating. Here we are celebrating our new year happily in our comfy home in a peaceful country, listening to loud sounds of fireworks at night. While some are just wrecked of their homes, sitting in a corner of a rubble with little children and the sounds of bombs flying everywhere out of control, above their heads, behind their backs, just hoping it would not hit them. I can't help but feel really sorry for them. I can only cry here silently. May Allah reward your courage and patience for believing in Him through this difficult times Gaza. And may He have mercy on us who are here helpless to do anything but only pray for you. As for Israel and whoever that's behind this monstrous plan, I know Allah will reserve heavy punishment specifically for you. That, i don't need to worry. Only time will tell.

My wish, is hopefully this new year, we become better people in general, and a more devout muslim at heart. Have an open mind to learn and re-learn things. Especially the knowledge of our own faith. And since it is so easy for us to claim to do things based from our prophet Muhammad s.a.w, please have the decency to double check its authenticity. And if we can't afford to follow all the things he did, please don't add or replace them with new ones. Coz there just can't be a shortcut or "better ways" than his. And I'm sure we love him enough not do that.

I end my post with another beautiful quote i stumble on twitter, which goes something like this:

"Put Allah first, and you will never be last."

Earth needs moms... Badly.

Salam and good day everyone.

Haven't been in the bloggesphere due to a few reasons of late. But in the light of recent events where certain news that highlights troubled kids at school, underage rape and abuse, it couldn't catch my attention enough that i decided to lay down my thoughts about it.

Believe it or not, i don't read the newspapers. Not anymore anyway. In fact, since i've started working, i decided this after reading a few headlines that only showcases gruesome horrible stories of crimes everywhere daily. Therefore i simply don't find the need to know and pollute my mind about these things. It just convinces me to summarize that the world out there is getting scarier by the minute. Not to mention dangerous.

If you ask me, the earth is in dire need of mothering. Not just the simplest form of mothering, but the full "this-is-my-job" mothering. Another word would be "serious". As much as in denial we may be, we all know for a fact that good parenting, especially mothering would "save" the world from filling up with these immoral people. Yes, intelligence is important too, but without moral values, this is where you'll hear stories of a teacher sexually harassing his students. He's obviously not that stupid.

If mothers were to play their part in continously dedicating their lives to nurture well mannered and god-fearing sons, the effect will only be the growth of gentlemen that respects women that they treat them as how they would like their mother or sister to be treated. And if mothers have the time to inculcate lessons to their daughters on how important it is to hold themselves of high regards and value, they would not end up dressing half nakedly in the streets without feeling any shame. Unless you think someone like nicki minaj is cool-worthy to be idolized, then pleaseeeee don't be surprise if your daughter ends up parading her "superbass" in public. *sigh*

A showboat no more!

Salam!

Told u to wake me up when September ends. Coz i hardly feel like blogging this month. Dunno why. Eheh.

Anwyays, just want to jot down this thought. I, naturally (since i can even remember) have been the type that is extrovert in character. Mostly. Not all the time. It doesn't happen when i'm not in the mood. Always been the one who wants to be heard in class, was the class monitor, prefect and head prefect in school, the frequent emcee in university events, love doing stage plays and sing in choirs and took part in simple musical performances... U know, all the so-called "glam" stuff lar! And faith has it, i'm  destined to be in one of the most "glamorous" profession on this planet! Tunggu nak keluar tv jer ni!!. Hahaha!!!

In fact it was hard to keep myself from being noticeable in a given particular setting! Tak caya, can ask the people who's been there to see it. Heck, i've even been "secretly" hated for this... Wait. Can't be a secret if i know about it right? So scratch that. But no worries. That is a COMMON misunderstanding towards me actually. I give them some time, coz in the end, they ALL (well most) end up becoming my good friends now. Biasalar jealous sana-sini mula-mula! Hahahahaah! ;P Tak kenal maka tak cinta! But that is of course if they WANT to be my friend. Ada jer yang still go on on this "envy" streak of theirs. Honestly, i malas nak layan and i'm still sticking to being that fabulous self!! So continue tengok jer lar k? Bahahahahaaha!

Tips to survive government clinics!

Salam everybodeehh!

Government clinics. Ugh. Horrendous they can be at times! the long waiting hours. the non-friendly staff. and the enormous amount of people! All in one place!

Yeah tell me about it. It's not all that fun really to be there. But sometimes, one just got to. So I thought I'd give you a head's up on the unknown DOs and DON'Ts that they don't put up on their signboard. And I'll also highlight the "dang! i didn't know that!" tip to "survive" in a government clinic. Let's start shall we!

Here are the Do's.
  • DO state your symptoms correctly to the clerk at the front counter and not give a diagnosis of your own. Because the first person you'll be meeting is the clerk. And in the gov clinic, she is responsible to only delegate you to the type of patient you will be categorize into (generally. coz we have a system). So if you're having a fever, just say fever for she won't know what to do even if you self-diagnose yourself to rule out leptospirosis. If you're there for just a check up, do say so too. And if you're there for an appointment, state that as well. simple kan? but trust me, even at this very first pitstop can get the clerk all ding-dong and enter the doc's room JUST to ask "doctor, ini penyakit apa? case biasa ker follow up?" while he/she might be in the middle of a consultation.
  • DO bring your identification card along. We can't check if you if you're an alien. Coz we don't have the expertise for that.
  • DO state to the counter if you feel it is an emergency (in very bad pain, or feeling extremely breathless etc). Because when you do, you will be directed straight into a specific treatment room to be seen and assessed immediately. No point if you speak nicely and then be given a number to wait and you sit there with stomach cramps that's so bad you end up crying and squirming on your own. It'll be awhile to spot you coz the staff are too busy to notice you amongst the sea of patients. Unless you pass out of course and someone starts screaming in panic.
  • DO come for your appointments on time. If you can't just mention to us earlier or call us. Yes. We have a phone number for you to do that.
  • DO wait for your turn patiently. We don't really like people who are suppose to be sick, yet have the energy to yell and scream for their turns to be quicker. Coz it's pretty much futile and we might end up checking you just as quick and with tantrums as well. If you want fast service, please go to your nearest private clinic.
  • DO bring along your own plastic or little bags for your medicines. We are now going green. So no more plastic bags to be given with your bucketful of meds.
  • DO check out our pamphlets that we have been repeatedly told to get by our bosses and READ them. Saves you a lot of time on repeatable questions and you get to make the most out of your tax money by utilizing them. Yes. Those things are made with the government's money ie. your tax money.

Okay. Now the Don'ts

  • DON'T wear skimpy, eye-popping clothes to the clinic. As hot (as in fever) as you may be, we don't want any pakciks to get any heart attacks or raised BP when looking at you.
  • DON'T leave your children unattended. This is a clinic. Not a playcentre.
  • DON'T enter the doctor's room when it is not your turn. If you have an emergency, speak to the staff and they will get us for you. (trust me, this happened quite a lot with me. cakap takder manners maraahhhh!)
  • DON'T go to a clinic which is not within your home's vicinity. For example, don't go to a clinic in Ampang when you live all the way in Subang. We have zone-distributed clinics accessible for your convenience. Unless you happen to be from work which is in Ampang. If you do so, it will be a waste of your journey's cost and time, just to get rejected.
  • DON'T leave the clinic for a bite when you know your number will be up soon. You should have either eaten earlier or bring a snack along with you. Coz we don't tolerate those who fusses when we now put your card at the bottom of the pack. Other patients have waited too.
  • DON'T waste your medicines. Eat them all when we tell you to. And if you somehow miraculously found a hidden treasure of extras dated centuries back, bring them to the pharmacist for disposal.
  • DON'T answer your handphones while you're in the doctor's room. Banks wouldn't allow it. So do we.
  • DON'T use the staff's toilet. Seriously. DON'T.
Now since we got that covered (what i can roughly think at the top of my head), now i'm gonna let you in on a little secret. This thing if you do, will get all of the staff willing to serve you the best that they can. Some have known to get stuff done for them even though we were not be able to do it in the first place! (Courtesy call). This thing is soo contagious, it will get the desired and same response from the staff almost instantly! like a click of a finger!

Wanna know what it is? well the secret is.....

Mothers knows best. Really?

Salam.
Its 1am in the morning. Prolly another prelude to a sleepless night. No. It's not because of Yusuf. In fact he's sleeping soundly now. It's just his mommy. Whose pretty stressed up lately. Not because of him either. But of other people.

Mothers knows best. Really? Are u sure? Coz if you are, you would agree to most of the decisions she makes right? I mean there must be a reason someone came up with this phrase. You don't know "fathers knows best" or "grandparents knows best" or "aunties/uncles knows best" do you? But still, why do i get the feeling these other people wanting to claim that they know it best? And for MY child???

I mean seriously. Some of you had your mothering chance with your 1 or 2 or 10 kids. Why the need to bother with other people's? Man, ive said this before. Repeating it is kinda lame lar. And worst, i find it hard getting support for my "motherly" decisions. Why all so "berlumba-lumba" to make me feel incompetent to decide what's best for MY child? In simpler words, why go all out to make me feel like a failure?

Who said you can take my baby??!!

Salam. today's topic is actually pretty serious for me. and yes. i be trippin' big time!

As you can see, i'm a first time mom. so yeah having a baby is all new to me. an exciting journey being explored everyday. So like all things that are "new", i would of course be extremely cautious than normal. Like how i treat my other once-new things. With a 24-hour surveillance camera. Of my own. So here i would like to tell you.

I'm prolly partly OCD when it comes to my stuff. Especially the ones that i deem precious to me. I'm not denying that i have a tendency to take care of it well and try my best to restore them to their original form as when they were first purchased or given. So where's the OCD part you ask? well it's when people starts messing with them. WITHOUT my permission. i would throw a bitch-fit when someone ruins my stuff! i dont care even if it's accidental sometimes! (if u don't trust me, ask my siblings!). It's already hard for me to say "no, u can't take it." without getting a response like "eee! sombongnyer!" or "eee! kedekutnyer!!". but trust me, my respond will be "eh! suka hati lar! go get one yourself lar if u nak!". i mean, technically and logically speaking, who's the one with the rights here??!! geddit?? and why is it that when i politely declined your polite request for it, I am perceived as being rude? Me?? can't you just accept my privacy/decision and move on but at the same time we're still cool?

Oh cannooootttt!!! Not among us Malaysians i noticed. Surely they will label you as "stingy" one!!! so let's say lar, i actually submit to giving them to "borrow" or "hold" my stuff. then they ruin it (ie. dropped it, ripped it, squashed it, spoiled it, scratched it, etc etc). Do u even think they would want to replace it? let's say the thing costs quite a lot. or it's one of those special one-and-only piece that you might not get it anymore. then how? they'll prolly just smile nervously and just say sorry. and walk away and not contact you for aeons as if you're never known to them! it's even worse when that person is someone you're not even acquainted to and they just take your stuff to admire and BAMM!! it's broken/spoiled/squashed/scratched etc etc. and then they smile and say sorry and walk away! aaaaargghhhh!!! trust me! if it's legal, i would break every bone in their hands and then say "yeap! it's fair now!"

grrrrrrrr!!!!! i wish i had his arms for that situation!

My preggy "must-haves"!

Salam and a great day to all!

Today imma be sharing what I think are my best friends during my pregnancy! Some of you may know a lot more though! But for others, it might be something you could consider when you're getting pregnant the next time!

So here goes my list:

  • Maternity pillow!
Ok. the first time I saw one of these things was when I was watching the movie The Back Up Plan with Jlo not wanting to let go of her maternity pillow instead of hugging her hubby! That definitely sends across a message that this thing must be darn comfortable! so at first, I was skeptical that I would benefit much from it for I could just substitute with a lot of pillows stacked up around me for comfort. But somehow, that didn't work coz prolly the way I sleep (a little feisty!). So I tried googling where I could buy one. Sadly there isn't any store that sells them. Until I bumped into one online! I must say I didn't expect it to be that pricey, but since I'm in need of a good comfy sleep, I thought why the hell not! and guess what! It is one of my best friends till now!!! and yes! I feel bad hugging this instead of hubby when I sleep! But I wasn't up to the point of what Jlo did lar ok! hehehe.

Bragging... and how it is NOT EVEN your earthly right

Salam!

I’ll try to make this short and sweet. but most of the time, i just fail, even trying! Anyways, i just had to get this issue outta my head and share with you so that we can ponder upon it and hopefully we can improve ourselves as better people.

So bragging. in simple terms it is showing off/boasting. In bahasa melayu, it's called ‘berlagak’. And funnily used in the street language as ‘eksyen’. i seriously don’t see the correlation with the word ‘action’ in this to the actual meaning of bragging. But it is widely used and understood in Malaysia.

So, izzit wrong? in my sane opinion, it is. so are a lot of other things like lying, stealing etc. but does it account for enough damage to put you in the wrong place in the afterlife? ie. hell? well, depends on the usage, i’d say yeah. coz bragging will lead to arrogance, also known as riak. And this, is much against in Islam as other things. To make my point clearer, i have actually categorize bragging into light bragging and heavy bragging depending on the intensity. I'm only going to talk on light bragging because I think it's pretty obvious you would all know what heavy bragging is like.

My Hijab Experience Part Deux

Salam! wow, it’s been awhile eh? hehehe. forgive me for having a permanent job where i’m forced to devote most of my time to. thus, time less spent to complain/whine/share my experiences with uolls here. hehe.

Before i start, i wanna take this opportunity to wish every muslim Eid Mubarak! Honestly, this time around, i didn’t really have much of raya-ing due to the short leave i had. and Ramadhan this year was pretty challenging for me. But i pray that all the good things we did for Allah has been taken into account. InsyaAllah.

I’m sure some of you have read my previous post on My hijab experience. I took you on a journey of how i first got into this wearing the hijab. And i promised to share some of it’s benefits with you. i’m sure there’s millions (if not Allah wouldn’t prescribe it onto us ladies and He sure knows what’s best!). But i want to share with you on what i just happened to encounter during the fasting month and thought it would be a great thing to share what i know.

Inpatients: To Visit or Not To Visit?

Salam....

oh dear... i am losing touch at updating my blog frequently haven’t i. i guess i won’t be one of those successful bloggers who can make money out of writing. do forgive me the fact that i have a stable job that demands more of my attention lately.

but nevertheless, here i am. today, with all the rallies and commotion about Bersih 2.0 going on, no i’m still not going to talk about that issue. wait till i read up more on politics and understand it’s endless dramas as aside to the real deal, then will i start sharing my thoughts with you on anything political. in the mean time, consider me A-Political! ;P

today i’m gonna share with you on a topic that still gets some of you or other people’s minds out there boggled. To visit or not to visit someone sick in hospital.

First of all, MOST of you would of course say “MUST VISIT!”. why? Some of you might answer “sebab orang tu sakit, kenalar visit! kesian dier!”... but still, why? is your presence there going to make the disease any better? sure, there’s that slight possibility the type of sickness will render the patient dead in a few days and you feel the need to visit them one last time, but how about those just admitted to get recovery and REST?? and now he/she has to entertain a few bunch of you when u come visit them?? ever considered that he/she might be too sick to even talk to you? and what?! don’t tell me you’re all there to talk amongst yourself and catch on up on each other’s daily activities, while he/she might actually need peace and quiet to REST????

Women: To Work or Not To Work?

Hello…

Its been awhile since I last update my blog… well practically I didn’t really have that many interesting topic to write about… but then it hit me… maybe I could just ramble about what’s been going inside my head lately… and that controversial issue is… why do women have to work?!

Since ancient times, ok, maybe not that ancient lar.. but since the time of my, recently passed great grandmother, her role has not changed much by what is expected of a woman that time. She was a doting mother, a housewife, a cook, her own nurse at home, all in one. And doing all this without a fix pay mind you! I doubt if she ever gets paid at all! Her late husband was a police inspector, which was quite a lucrative job back then. Therefore maybe if she was paid, it was in gratitude for her hard work with some presents or dining out as appreciation. And they were doing just fine with that kind of life. Sure there weren’t any KLCC or pavilion to go to, so that means no coach outlet stores, or Bobbi browns either! This goes to show that there wasn’t a need for any of those to survive as well!

Patient Parody... Which one is YOU?

Oh well oh well oh well!

Isn't this an interesting topic to be discussing about!

What made me want to even blog about this is the fact that i've went through countless of patients in my limited working experience of just 3 years. and boy oh boy! have i seen waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyy too many personalities that even Rapunzel could handle! bet she wouldn't wanna leave the ivory tower coming out to a bunch of these people!! but what the heck. not all of us are born .... errr.... normal?! ;P

Lets start with the first category!

The Passive-fier!!!

Let's start with the less-dramatic one shall we?? that way we could build towards the climax! people in this group are....well... QUIET and hardly responsive! when i give a consultation on his/her condition, the only response i get would range from simple nods to "yes ma'am/no ma'am"s. not much of a range now izzit? but nevertheless, it's a favourite type to most doctors, because there is less fuss and hassle. and it makes it a lot easier knowing you have a gazillion more waiting outside your door, waiting to barge in to see you!

Golongan Orang Lupa Family... myth or matter?

"B'gurl! what are u getting for my birthday?"

"err... what do u have in mind B'boy?"

then hubby gets in place, adjust his hips in a verrry sexy pose, upper body leaning forward slightly, both arms held straight in front of him as if he's holding a long stick, looks to the left AS IF there's something ahead he's aiming to, then looks back to the ground in front of him, both arms swing in unison to the right and...... STTTRRIKKKKEEEEE!!!

"oh boy!" i gasped silently. "ohhhhhhhhh boyyyyyyyyyyy!!!"

ok. unless u were thinking i was describing "digging" or "mencangkul", as u can see my description of this activity is not PROfessional. and no. i ain't describing killing off any "birdies" or "eagles" by throwing a stick at them either! Let alone to a running TIGER into the woods!!!
